Ahsan Manzil, popularly known as the Pink Palace, is a magnificent architectural marvel located on the banks of the Buriganga River in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Built between 1859 and 1869, this former royal residence of the Dhaka Nawabs is now a national museum showcasing the opulent lifestyle of the Nawabs of Dhaka. The palace earned its nickname from the distinctive pink color of its exterior walls. Ahsan Manzil is an excellent example of Indo-Saracenic Revival architecture, blending Mughal, Gothic, and European Renaissance styles. The palace survived a tornado in 1888 and was converted into a museum in 1992 after extensive restoration.
